Prioritise Execute

So often we hear of extensive methods to win back time in our busy lives as leaders. Sometimes this ever increasing list of demands is overwhelming and we falter. Over the years I’ve tried a variety of time management systems but they require thoughtful planning and often end up causing you more stress than they solve. Recently I have been trying a simplified approach that involves just two steps. Prioritise and Execute

Yes, it is as simple as it sounds.

Step one. Prioritise what you have to do.

Step two. Execute one item only until finished then move on to the second priority.

The psychology behind ticking tasks off one at a time is that it clears the mind of clutter and re establishes a sense of purpose. Other tips include switching off notifications so that you don’t get interrupted. Having a good secretary gate keeping your office during these times can also help.
